사라지지 않는 펑크록 제왕 본래 이름은

Tony Flow And The Miraculously Majestic Masters Of Mayhem 라는 이름이었다.
LA에서 '80년대 초반 결성된 밴드, 데뷔 앨범 [Red Hot Chili Peppers]에 이어

조지 클린턴(George Clinton)이 프로듀스한 2집이 발매되면서 언더그라운드에서 점점 알려져 갔다.
88년에는 [The Uplift Mofo Party]와 EP [Abbey Road]를 발표,

이후 헤로인 과용으로 힐렐 슬로박이 사망한다.

이후 릭 루빈(Rick Rubin)과 함께 불후의 명작 [Blood Sugar Sex & Magik]을 내놓는다.

최고의 인기를 구가하는 동안 93년에 기타리스트 존 프루시안테가 탈퇴해 솔로 활동에 전념한다.
94년 데이브 나바로 영입, 95년에 정규 앨범 [One Hot Minute]을 발표한다.
그러나 98년 데이브 나바로는 결국 밴드를 떠나고,

그후임으로 다시 존 프루시안테가 5년만에 돌아와 무대에 서게 된다.
99년 [Californication], 2002년 [By The Way] 음반을 발매했다.
2002년 내한공연을 갖기도 했다.
