금발의 아내 제니를 모델로 하여 뉴욕에서 작곡하였다.
시냇가를 거니는 금발의 제니를 그리면서,
그녀의 아름다움을 기리는 이 노래는,
그의 자작시에 곡을 붙인 것으로 그의 작품 가운데서도
가장 로맨틱한 곡으로 평가된다.
